The life of a college student can be many things. One’s life can be filled with just about anything and everything. From being constantly busy with academics, working out at the gym, and spending time with friends, there are many different aspects and tidbits that come with college life. Every student’s life is different, and every life is what one makes it.

College is about furthering education and attending classes. The workload is different for every student, major, and class. One major could seem like there is very little work, while another is writing a paper every other day, while juggling exams in between assignments. Doing well in school is important for graduating on time and getting one’s degree. It is important to stay on top of assignments and upcoming exams to do well. Most parents expect their children to do well in school and encourage the attendance of college. However, with all the other distractions and temptations that come with college, focusing on one’s academics can become difficult and challenging to many students.

Fitness is a major part of college life as well. The idea of “Freshmen 15” is a very real thing and it happens to many students. Eating habits and patterns often change with entering college, and most students do not take this into consideration in regards to physical activity. The weight gained is often great and very difficult to lose once it starts to build up on the body. Some students do have the opposite happen to them. With a recreation center nearby and free to student’s use, they find more motivation to go to the gym and shed the extra weight they gained throughout their high school years. Often times, people who go to college change in physical appearance, one way or another, good or bad. It is important to stay on top of one’s physical health in college, because this is a key way to maintain one’s overall well-being.

College is also about finding one’s life time friends. Friends who are going to be there for you always and forever, through thick and thin. The friends you make in college are the friends who are going to be your bridesmaids and your groomsmen. Your friends are the ones you are going to hang around with and be with you when you do crazy things. Your friends are the ones who are also going to help you change and grow, for the better. They are going to help you open up, come out of your comfort zone, and try new things. Your friends became your family in college and help make the big transition from home to school easier. Your college friends are your family. Not only in college, but forever. And that is a great thing.

While a college student’s life can be filled with many things, each of the things are great in their own way. Every little piece plays a role in one’s life and helps them become the person they are meant to be. The sooner a person finds who they are meant to be, the better they can become and the better they will always be.

There are many places that students can study and complete assignments. A common place is one's dorm room, due to the comfortable environment and convenience. Stephanie, my roommate, especially likes working on her assignments from the comfort of her bed.

The Student Union is a common place that student's like to hang out and grab a bite to eat. Often times friends can be found in the Union, along with performances and other events.

The friends youmake in college are your friends for a lifetime. Regardless of how you make friends, they are important to have. Many students make the decision to join Greek life, join an organization they are interested in, or find friends in their residence halls.
